Material Motives
Material Motives is a contemporary fiber art exhibit exploring innovative uses of textile techniques and the intentional choices behind material selection. This exhibit will be held in the Ferndale Area District Library from Sunday, April 13, 2025 to May 18, 2025, and includes a public reception on Thursday, April 24.
Material Motives seeks to showcase the diverse possibilities of fiber as an artistic medium, highlighting works that challenge traditional boundaries or celebrate the tactile and narrative qualities of textiles. Whether through weaving, embroidery, quilting, mixed media, or experimental processes, this exhibit celebrates the unique choices artists make for their creative expressions.
